Media Whore Contest? King of Stink? Mr. Meaty Ass? Stuffed Crotch Competition? If this sounds like late viewing on the Game Show Channel to you – you’re wrong. These are just a few examples of the whacked out, sexed up contests created by host Paul Short for his monthly, East Village, Wednesday night brawl – SPIT.

The contests, like the party itself, were a fresh and much welcome addition to the New York scene this past year and a clear sign of the return of the good old fashioned dirty boy fun that New York has been known for.

Along with DJ Mike Grimes, barman Mike Smart, light guy/fogman Dominic and a regular crowd of goodlookers, Short has created a well planned, well choreographed trainwreck of a party which in its best moments makes you wonder if any one is driving the car.

SPIT – definitely worth the Thursday morning hangover it promises to give you.
